Ich habe einen sehr interessanten Artikel gefunden, den ich unbedingt teilen wollte. In diesem geht es um die Insel Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha'apai, welche es erst seit ca. 5 Jahren gibt. Sie entstand durch einen Unterwasservulkan, der Schlamm und andere Materialien an die Oberfläche berförderte und somit diese Insel formte. Wie cool ist das denn bitte? Ich finde das super, wenn man sich überlegt, dass dort vor einigen Jahren nur Meer war und nun befindet sich dort eine kleine Insel auf der es mittlerweile auch schon Pflanzen und Tiere gibt. Forscher gaben der Insel nicht viel Zeit, es wurde behauptet, sie würde schnell wieder im Meer verschwinden. Und dennoch steht sie dort und bietet einen neuen Lebensraum für Vögel aus der Gegend.

I found an interesting article reporting about Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha'apai, an island that has newly emerged in the last 5 years. It was created by an underwater volcano, which transported mud and other materials to the surface that formed this island. How cool is that? I think that's great when you consider that only a few years ago there was only sea at this area and now there is a small island on which some plants and animals already settled down. Researchers said the island wouldn't exist that long, it was claimed that it would sink back into the sea pretty soon. And yet it stands there and provides a new habitat for birds from the area. What a miracle of mother nature!
